Its teeth has a certain angle to the direction of shaft (helix angle), and it is better contact interval than spur gear, so rotation is smooth and quiet.

It is the most representative gear, and as its teeth are parallel to shaft, it is called spur gear. It is general to decelerate/accelerate rotation movement of shaft by combining with gear with the different number of teeth.
